CJ-1000 Missile
Category: Defence | Aerospace Technology | International Relations
UPSC Notes
The designation CJ-1000 requires careful verification. Chinese military reporting includes the CJ-1000A, generally described as an experimental or developing high-bypass turbofan engine programme associated with China's large commercial aircraft industry, rather than a missile.
The designation may have been confused with a Chinese cruise missile or another defence system. It is therefore important not to attribute missile range, payload or operational capability to “CJ-1000” without a reliable source identifying the exact system.
