AIIMS NORCET (Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test)

AIIMS NORCET is a highly competitive national-level exam conducted to recruit Nursing Officers across AIIMS institutions. It is typically held twice a year and split into two stages: Prelims (Stage I) and Mains (Stage II).

Exam Stages & Pattern

  • Prelims (Stage I): A qualifying, online, multiple-choice exam (100 questions, 90 minutes) — 80 nursing subject questions and 20 General Knowledge/Aptitude questions. Negative marking of 1/3 mark applies for incorrect answers.
  • Mains (Stage II): For candidates who qualify Prelims — an online 3-hour exam with 160 scenario-based, clinical, and conceptual multiple-choice nursing questions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing/B.Sc. Nursing from an INC-recognized institute, OR B.Sc. (Post-Certificate)/Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  • Diploma: GNM diploma with 2 years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital.
  • Age Limit: Generally 18 to 30 years, subject to government relaxation for reserved categories.
