BrahMos Aerospace — the India-Russia joint venture — continued its expansion as a symbol of India's rising defence-export credibility:

  • The Philippines, BrahMos's first export customer (a $375 million, three-battery deal signed in 2022), received its first battery in April 2024 and second in 2025, with the third battery progressing through 2026 to give the Philippine Marine Corps a full coastal missile regiment.
  • BrahMos-equipped units participated in Exercise Balikatan 2026 with US forces, testing sensor-to-shooter integration alongside American systems like Typhon and NMESIS.
  • In May 2026, India offered the Philippines an Extended-Range (ER) BrahMos variant with a strike radius beyond 400 km (versus the standard 290 km export cap under MTCR rules) — a move widely read as reinforcing Manila's deterrence posture in the South China Sea.
