The Cabinet Committee on Security is a key committee of the Union Cabinet responsible for considering major national security and defence-related matters. It plays an important role in decisions concerning defence policy, strategic affairs and security-related appointments and issues.
It is part of India's executive decision-making structure rather than a constitutional body created directly by the Constitution.
