JEE Main Paper 2A (B.Arch)

JEE Main Paper 2A (B.Arch) is India's premier national entrance exam for admission to 5-year undergraduate architecture programs at institutions like NITs, SPAs, and IITs. It evaluates candidates on Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing, held in a hybrid format (CBT + pen/paper) across India.

Exam Structure

The paper consists of 77 questions totalling 400 marks, to be completed in 3 hours:

  • Mathematics (20% weightage): Tests problem-solving and conceptual clarity (algebra, calculus, coordinate geometry).
  • Aptitude Test (50% weightage): Assesses logical reasoning, visual perception, and 3D object visualization.
  • Drawing Test (30% weightage): Evaluates creativity, sketching, and design thinking using perspective and composition.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: Must have passed or be appearing for the 10+2 examination.
  • Subjects: Must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
  • Marks: Minimum 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Top Colleges Accepting Scores

  • School of Planning and Architecture (SPAs): Located in Delhi and Vijayawada.
  • National Institutes of Technology (NITs): Including NIT Tiruchirappalli, NIT Calicut, and VNIT Nagpur.
  • Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs): Qualified candidates may further appear for the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) for admission to B.Arch at select IITs.
