National Biodiversity Authority- Biological Diversity Act 2002

 

The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) is a statutory body established under the Biological Diversity Act, 2002.

Its headquarters is in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

The NBA deals with:

  • Conservation of biological diversity.

  • Sustainable use of biological resources.

  • Fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from biological resources and associated knowledge.

The Biological Diversity Act, 2002 was substantially amended in 2023.
