Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB) Magnet
Category: Science and Technology | Critical Minerals | Clean Energy
UPSC Notes
Neodymium-iron-boron magnets are powerful permanent magnets made primarily from neodymium, iron and boron. They are among the strongest commercially available permanent magnets for their size and are essential in many compact, high-performance electrical devices.
Some formulations also use other rare-earth elements, such as dysprosium or terbium, to improve performance at elevated temperatures.
