Notes
Several new dragonfly species were described from India in 2026.
Three important species of Sarasaeschna were reported from Northeast India:
Sarasaeschna dosdewaensis – Long-tailed Boghawker
Sarasaeschna nuboides – Clouded Boghawker
Sarasaeschna sigotaayo – Siang Boghawker
The first was reported from Karimganj, Assam.
The other two were associated with the Siang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh.
Dragonflies belong to the order Odonata.
Their diversity is an important indicator of freshwater ecosystem health.
