Objective

To ensure remunerative prices to farmers, particularly for pulses and oilseeds.

Important Components

Price Support Scheme (PSS)

  • Physical procurement by designated agencies when market prices fall below MSP.

Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS)

  • Farmer receives the difference between MSP and prescribed market/selling price.

Under PSS, notified pulses, oilseeds and copra meeting Fair Average Quality norms are procured through central nodal agencies.
