Objective
To ensure remunerative prices to farmers, particularly for pulses and oilseeds.
Important Components
Price Support Scheme (PSS)
Physical procurement by designated agencies when market prices fall below MSP.
Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS)
Farmer receives the difference between MSP and prescribed market/selling price.
Under PSS, notified pulses, oilseeds and copra meeting Fair Average Quality norms are procured through central nodal agencies.
