NITI Aayog & IBM Unveiled Roadmap to Make India a Top-3 Quantum Economy by 2047

In December 2025, NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub released a Roadmap to transform India into a leading quantum-powered economy by 2047.

About the Roadmap on Quantum Technology

• Developed by: NITI Aayog’s Frontier Tech Hub in collaboration with IBM and supported by an Expert Council.
• Key Targets:
  • Incubate at least 10 globally competitive quantum startups generating over USD 100 million each.
  • Capture more than 50% of the global quantum software and service market by 2035.
  • Achieve Quantum Atmanirbharata (Self-Reliance) and control critical supply chain points.
• Implementation Phases:
  • 2025–2030: Build scale, expand quantum hubs, fund 50+ startups.
  • 2030–2035: Shift towards global leadership.
