• Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC) received a license to establish a reinsurance branch in India’s GIFT City, Gujarat (effective April 1, 2026).
• The license, granted by IFSCA, supports ADNIC’s global expansion strategy leveraging India’s growing insurance market.
• Expected to boost India-UAE economic ties, foster cross-border insurance, and reinforce GIFT City as a global financial and reinsurance hub.

• Tata Steel Limited signed a pact with SMS Group (Germany) to deploy the world’s first large-scale EASyMelt (Electrically Assisted Syngas Smelter) technology at its Jamshedpur plant.
• EASyMelt Technology:
o A retrofit solution that replaces coal with syngas and uses plasma torches to cut fossil fuel use and improve blast furnace efficiency.
o Offers flexibility to operate on multiple fuels without replacing existing infrastructure.
• Impact:
o Expected to reduce CO22 emissions by over 50% relative to conventional blast furnaces.
o Major milestone towards Tata Steel’s net zero emissions goal by 2045, one of the steel industry’s most ambitious sustainability targets.
