The Union Cabinet approved the continuation of Atal Pension Yojana (APY) till Financial Year 2030–31.

Key Facts

  • Launch: 9 May 2015 (Implemented from 1 June 2015)
  • Administered by: Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA)
  • Target Group: Unorganised sector workers
  • Entry Age: 18–40 years
  • Pension: ₹1,000–₹5,000 per month after 60 years
  • Government Support: Promotional activities and gap funding extended till FY31

Current Status

  • 8.66 crore+ subscribers (as of January 2026)
  • Public Sector Banks account for 70.44% of enrolments
  • Regional Rural Banks contribute 19.80%
