China Launches HY-2E Marine Satellite
China launched Haiyang (HY)-2E aboard a Long March 4B rocket.
Purpose
Oceanographic and marine monitoring.
It works with:
- HY-2C
- HY-2D
Payloads
- Radar altimeter → sea surface height
- Microwave radiometer → sea surface temperature
- Microwave scatterometer → sea-surface wind speed/direction
- Calibration radiometer.
