ISRO CE20 Cryogenic Engine — LVM3

ISRO successfully conducted a flight acceptance hot test of the CE20 cryogenic engine for the LVM3-M7 mission.

Location

ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu

Test

• 19.5 tonnes thrust → 45 seconds
• 22 tonnes thrust → 25 seconds.

Nozzle Protection System

CE20 was tested with the Nozzle Protection System (NPS) for the first time.

Benefits:

• Simplifies high-altitude testing
• Requires fewer resources
• Allows longer test duration.

• Powers upper stage of LVM3
• Thrust range: 19–22 tonnes
