MeitY-DFI launched NIDAR 2.0 to Develop Drones Powered by Indian-Made Chips
- Who: Ministry of Electronics & IT + Drone Federation India [DFI] launched 2nd edition of National Innovation Challenge for Drone Application and Research [NIDAR 2.0] for 2026-27 under SwaYaan initiative at Electronics Niketan, Delhi.

- Focus Shift: From conventional systems to autonomous systems, indigenous avionics and core drone components, supported by indigenous VEGA processors [Indian-made chips - C-DAC].
- Tracks: Track 1 - Drone Innovation, Track 2 - Component Innovation.
- Incentives: Prize pool > Rs 65 lakh + corporate internships, incubation support, cloud computing credits to turn prototypes into commercial products.
