• Campaign Theme: "SHANTI: Securing Holistic Advancement through Norms, Trust and Integrity".
• Objective: Highlights India's commitment to global peace, security, equitable development, reformed multilateralism.
• Priority Areas for 2028-29 Term: Countering terror financing, strengthening maritime security, promoting responsible governance of AI.
• Election Schedule: June 2027 for 2028-29 term. India will compete against Tajikistan for only seat in Asia-Pacific group.
• India's Past Terms: Served 8 times as non-permanent member - 1950-51, 1967-68, 1972-73, 1977-78, 1984-85, 1991-92, 2011-12, 2021-22.
