• Outlay: Rs 1,500 Cr total - Rs 1,000 Cr from Department of Biotechnology [DBT], GoI + Rs 500 Cr from Wellcome Trust, London, UK.
• Implementation: Jointly by DBT + Wellcome Trust through DBT-WT India Alliance, administered by Special Purpose Vehicle [SPV].
• Objective: Nurture globally competitive biomedical research workforce - basic scientists, clinician-researchers, public health experts, science communicators, research managers.
