Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Unveils Roadmap for 'Viksit Krishi and Samruddh Kisan'

• Unveiled by: Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare and Rural Development at 98th Foundation Day of ICAR in New Delhi, 16 July 2026.
• Roadmap: 'Viksit Krishi and Samruddh Kisan' as key pillar of Viksit Bharat 2047.
• Highlights:
  • 43 new crop varieties, 17 technologies/products, 14 publications released + 70+ MoUs and tech licensing agreements for tech transfer to farmers.
  • Climate-Resilient: ICAR will establish 100 Climate Smart Villages before its centenary to demonstrate climate-smart farming, integrated farming systems, water conservation, climate adaptation models.
  • Mission ICAR-100: KVKs to be transformed into innovation hubs, climate advisory centres, startup support centres, farmer tech demo centres, each KVK covering at least 100 villages.[Krishi Vigyan Kendras]
  • Digital Outreach: Under 'One Institute-One Grand Innovation' initiative, every ICAR institute will develop at least one transformational innovation within 2 years.
