Union Minister Piyush Goyal Announces Task Force to Support Toy Sector, Targets 5% Global Market Share by 2032

• Announced by: Piyush Goyal, Minister Commerce & Industry during stakeholder meet "Team Up for Toys: Driving Steering Committee for Advancing Local Value Add and Employment [SCALE], Innovation and Exports" organised by DPIIT at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi.
• Aim: Strengthen toy sector and achieve 5% share in global toy market by 2032.
• Six Key Focus Areas:
  1. Integrating India's toy industry with global value chains
  2. Strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities
  3. Addressing value chain bottlenecks
  4. Creating skilled workforce and generating employment
  5. Promoting design and innovation
  6. Enhancing ease of doing business to improve global competitiveness
• Launch: Toy Sector Playbook - roadmap for manufacturers, startups, MSMEs, investors covering standards, skills, innovation, IP, exports.
• Ecosystem: 21,000+ MSMEs, 770+ DPIIT recognised startups, 50 toy clusters, 1,800+ BIS licensees.
• About DPIIT: Established 1995 [renamed from DIPP 2019], functions under MoC&I, HQ New Delhi, headed by Secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia.
