Venezuela Withdraws from Rome Statute

Venezuela formally notified the UN of its withdrawal from the Rome Statute, which governs membership of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Under Article 127, withdrawal takes effect one year after notification.

Venezuela became a State Party to the Rome Statute in 2002.
