Samudra Manthan — National Offshore Exploration Scheme
The Cabinet approved the ₹84,084 crore Samudra Manthan – National Offshore Exploration (NOE) Scheme.
It aims to:
- Increase offshore oil and gas exploration
- Improve India's energy security
- Reduce dependence on imported energy
- Encourage technological innovation
The scheme is a Central Sector Scheme with 100% central funding and will run up to FY 2030–31.
