World FinTech Day 2026

World FinTech Day is observed on 1 August.

Its purpose is to highlight the role of financial technology in:

• Modernising financial services
• Financial inclusion
• Expanding access to financial products
• Transforming the global financial industry

The day commemorates the death anniversary of Italian banker and politician Cosimo de' Medici, who died on 1 August 1464.
