Six States Agree to Sign MoU for Kishau Multi-Purpose Dam Project
Six northern states (Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan) signed MoU for the Kishau Dam.
Project details: Hydroelectric & water storage on Tons River (tributary of Yamuna), estimated cost Rs 15,000 crore.
Location: Uttarakhand–Himachal Pradesh border (Dehradun–Sirmour region).
Funding: 90% by Central Government, 10% shared by participating states.
Water sharing: Himachal Pradesh’s water share to Delhi & Rajasthan; aims to rejuvenate Yamuna River and increase clean water flow.
