New Election Commission Appointments

The President of India appointed two new Election Commissioners following amendments to the Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners Act, 2023.
- The selection panel includes PM, a Union Cabinet Minister, and Leader of Opposition
- Election Commission consists of CEC + 2 Election Commissioners
- CEC tenure: 6 years or age 65, whichever earlier
