Event: 37th Foundation Day of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), Mumbai.
Key Launch: Logistics Port Performance Index (LPPI) for FY 2024-25.
LPPI:
Benchmarking tool for Indian ports’ operational performance.
Developed under Sagar Aankalan framework.
Assesses dry bulk, liquid bulk, container cargo.
Uses 6 metrics: cargo handled, vessel turnaround, berth idle time, pre-berthing waiting, container dwell, ship berth day output.
Incorporates absolute performance and YoY improvement.
Digital Initiatives:
Grievance Redressal Module (e-Navik platform).
Ship Registration Module (e-Samudra platform).
Medical Practitioner Module.
Ship Recycling Credit Note Module.
Developed by Directorate General of Shipping, MoPSW.
