- The scheme promotes electric mobility and EV adoption in India.
- It includes support for categories such as electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, buses and other electric vehicles, along with development of EV-related infrastructure.
- The scheme's tenure was extended from 31 March 2026 to 31 March 2028, while the terminal date for certain categories such as registered e-2W, e-rickshaws/e-carts and e-3W (L5) remained 31 March 2026.
- The scheme also supports EV testing infrastructure and domestic manufacturing.
