Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs)

  • RSETI = Rural Self Employment Training Institute.

  • Initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD).

  • RSETIs are generally managed by banks with cooperation from central and state governments.

  • Main objective: provide rural youth with skill training and entrepreneurship development for self-employment.

  • Training is designed to help beneficiaries establish enterprises, often with bank-credit linkage.

  • RSETIs focus on areas such as:

    • Agriculture

    • Dairy

    • Poultry

    • Tailoring

    • Food processing

    • Repair services

    • Other entrepreneurial activities.

  • As of March 2026, 632 RSETIs were operational across 619 districts in 33 States/UTs, according to the Ministry of Rural Development.
